San Isidro, Madrid
Thursday, May 15 2008 All Day
San Isidro, Saint Isidore, is one of Madrid's patron saints and his saint's day is the culmination of a series of festivities lasting about ten days. This is Madrid at its most "typical," and visitors are usually delighted to come across Madrileños in traditional dress, whether Goyesque majos and majas or the more Cockney-like chulos and chulapas, and dancing the stately chotis, preferably played on a barrel organ
