Diputación de La Coruña

The centre of most visitors' attention in the province of La Coruña or A Coruña is the great pilgrimage destination Santiago de Compostela, and this is understandable. But the province also has the lovely Rías Altas, northern estuaries, and the beautiful and mortiferous Costa da Morte. The capital city La Coruña, sacked by Francis Drake and burial place of Sir John Moore, is also worth visiting, and though you could be forgiven for giving Franco's birthplace, El Ferrol, a miss, there are any number of other places of interest. This is the provincial government's horribly bureaucratic site, with a horrid colour scheme to boot. In Spanish and Galician only, which is more forgiveable.
