Sigüenza

This charming mediaeval town in Guadalajara is well worth going out of your way to see, and its castle-parador is one of those which are worth saving up for. This municipal site also has its charm, less-than-perfect English and the odd outright gaff notwithstanding (Turism (sic), How to Get (sic)...), and covers Sigüenza's attractions and possibilities more than adequately. Very nice.

Sigüenza Parador

Although the Sigüenza Castle-Parador is really, to all intents and purposes, a modern reconstruction, staying there is a fabulous experience (and excellent value for money).

Sigüenza Photos

Sigüenza is a lovely mediaeval city on the edge of New Castile which was hard fought over in the Spanish Civil War: you can see bullet holes and other damage in the cathedral. There is almost no information on this website, but the photos are gorgeous.
