Ayuntamiento de Motril

The largest town on the Costa Tropical is a little too ordinary to be much frequented by tourists, though it is an interesting enough place, with a port, a fishing port and a yachting marina and two beaches. The Casa de las Palmas, an old (16th? century) sugar mill / museum, is evidence of what was the town's main industry for centuries, indeed the region is now the only place in Europe where sugar cane is still grown.
