Côa Valley 

Or the Côa Valley Archaeological Park, the Côa being a tributary of the Douro. The Parque Arqueológico was established for the conservation and study of the cave paintings ("Palaeolithic parietal art") in the valley, also protected as a World Heritage site. The Côa Valley is also notable for the fine port wine produced in the area, and being the site of the so-called Côa Battle during the Peninsula War ("so called " because it was not much more than a holding action, though its effects were important).
