Caving 

The limestone cliffs in the Río Lobos gorge hold numerous complexes of karstic caves, some of which are suitable for speleology. La Galiana Baja is one such, being a largely horizontal series of caves, and the website linked to here offers a very easy, 3-kilometre guided route, taking over three hours.

Cañon del Río Lobos 

The canyon of the River Lobos "is considered one of the most beautiful landscapes in Spain," in the words of this Spanish-only official website. It is a deep gorge, all 20 kilometres of it and its entire "zona de influencia" being included in the nature reserve, which is home to eagles (including golden eagles), vultures (including nearly 160 pairs of griffon vultures), hawks and other birds of prey, deer, wild boar, otters and mountain cats. Its aquatic life is almost as rich, with brown trout, lamprehuela, and a host of amphibians, from fire salamanders to Iberian frogs and something called the western spadefoot. Its only drawback as a nature reserve is that it is too popular, and the Traveller's Nature Guide: Spain recommends that you "avoid weekends, Easter and high summer," with which I concur.
