Valle de Güimar

Valley and small, newish (1994) denominación de origen in the south-east of the island of Tenerife, comprising three municipalities: Arafo, Candelaria and Güímar itself. It would be a lovely place to visit, with different nature reserves and protected landscapes, notably Siete Lomas, but I am afraid I cannot say much about the wine made - almost none gets off the island. I do say on an older page that it produces "essentially aromatic, fruity white wines," but I'm afraid that was second-hand information. Anyway, the link above goes to the Spanish-only but otherwise fine website of the DO Valle de Güimar's regiulatory board.
