Zaragoza is the capital of the region of Aragón, an interesting corner of Spain with fantastic contrasts between mountains and plains. The city itself is large and businesslike, but has a splendid historic centre and one of Spain's great ecclesiastical monuments, the Basilca del Pilar. The Basilica de la Virgen del Pilar, Our Lady of the Pillar, is Saragossa's most emblematic building, and one of Spain's great ecclesiastical buildings. These are its Spanish-only official web pages.

Zaragoza's new intermodal station, full name Estación Central de Autobuses de Zaragoza-Delicias, Delicias for short, is an intercity bus station and the city's high-speed AVE railway station.

Saragossa is one of Spain's great cathedral cities.

Saragossa's football team is probably the main reason more English speakers say "Zaragoza" than "Saragossa" nowadays.

The entry begins "Zaragoza (English Saragossa, Latin Caesaraugusta) is..." So if its name is Saragossa in English, why does Wikipedia redirect you to "Zaragoza?"

Remarkable in that much of it is still applicable - Saragossa's "four regulation lions" are still "the cathedral, the church of El Pilar, the leaning tower, and the bridge and fortifications." The leaning tower in question is that of the church of San Juan de los Panetes.

Saragossa's place in the history of cinema mainly derives from being where Luis Buñuel grew up (he was born elsewhere in Aragón). One of the purposes of this site is to sell and regulate the province and its capital as film location, and it has a lot of very interesting information on the different places.

This website's truly awful English and apparent lack of any point at all inexplicably add up to something with a certain enchantment.

Zaragoza was founded by Caesar Augustus, the first Roman emperor (and its original name was "Caesaraugusta," say it to yourself a few times while pretending to be drunk and lisp and you'll understand), and many of its more interesting museums are related with Roman history. This site of the municipal tourist board is almost entirely admirable, being attractive and easy to use, with truckloads of well-presented information: the city's sights, shopping, getting there, accommodation, restaurants and what's on.
