The hilltop town of Begur overlooks the Mediterranean and the Bay of l'Estartit. It is crowned by a small castle and is otherwise unremarkable in itself, its interest lying in the names of the seaside villages, hamlets, coves and beaches within its municipal boundaries: Aiguablava, Fornells (not the one on Minorca, evidently), Sa Tuna, Aiguafreda and Sa Riera, among others.
