READ THIS PAGE BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR LINK. I mean every word.
Seen a great page about Spain or Portugal you think everyone should know about? Or you want your own site included in the SPV web links directory? It's easy, just click here and follow the instructions. But READ THIS FIRST. I have enough to do without editing your submissions, and I do not owe you any favours. If your link is accepted, you should receive an e-mail to that effect, and if you do not, it is probably because you haven't followed the guidelines below.
- Make it easy for me. Really easy.
- Link annotations are not advertisements. I do include links to commercial websites, but the links directory exists to provide hard information, and a link annotation should contain information, not advertising. Simply tell the reader what he or she can expect to find on the web page or site the link goes to, don't pitch it or hype. If you write your text as if it were an advertisement, you oblige me to rewrite it or delete your link, and I will probably delete, sorry.
- If you have a single property to rent, or even one or two, consider using the SPV classifieds instead. I am not adding new villas and apartments to the links directory unless they aport valuable information and, dash it, that's what the classifieds are for.
- Where you are asked for a title, put a title, the name of the web page or site the link goes to. Come on, this isn't rocket science, it is obvious that "Beautiful affordable village houses to rent in the stunning Axarquia" would not be not acceptable as a title, even if it were not guilty of hyping. I would delete it immediately.
- Write a grammatical description and check your spelling. I haven't got time to proofread.
- I repeat, because I really mean this, don't hype. Oh, and don't overuse capital letters, either. If you submit an entry like the following, I will have to rewrite it from scratch or delete it, and you will have gathered that I usually prefer to delete: "Search 4000+ TEFL job postings for positions in Portugal and Spain! XXXX.com is the Web's first vertical search portal for ESL/EFL teachers. FREE job board, resume post, news ticker, LESSON PLANS, teachers blogs, classified ads, DISCUSSION FORUM and much more."
- If you don't see a category for your site, never mind. If it is of interest to SPV's users, I will make a suitable category. But you will do yourself a favour if you take the trouble to look around and check that there isn't a suitable category already.
- The SPV links directory is mostly in English. If you submit a description in Spanish, that is fine. I may translate it and have the two languages side by side, or I might well leave it as it is.
- If your site is obviously not relevant to Spain and Portugal for Visitors, forget it. For example, if your website has to do with the expat community in Finland, it does not belong on Spain and Portugal for Visitors. SPV does not take part in link exchanges of any kind, either. But if you are not sure, please go ahead and submit - I don't bite. Often.
- Having said that, and if your site is relevant, it would be nice if you could link back. This is not a condition, but I will give preference to sites linking to SPV (it doesn't matter whether you link to the SPV homepage or any of the inside pages). In that case, please leave a message in the forum or use the feedback form. Only e-mail me at webmaster AT spainforvisitors.com in case of absolute necessity.
- You can enter your e-mail if you want to be notified when your site is approved, otherwise leave the box blank.
- If you would like to be able to edit your link description at a later date, you will have to become a member of the site: the link is at the bottom of the page, on the left. Don't worry about your privacy, your details are completely confidential and I undertake not to disclose them to anyone.
I think that's all - if you have any problems, just let me know. Here is the Submit Link link again, in case you are too lazy to scroll back to the top of the page. Don't say I haven't made it easy for you. So make it easy for me.
