How much should we expect to have to pay for the ride into town from Madrid Barajas? Is there a fixed fare, or should the meter be running? Is there a bus connection?

Allow something like 20 euros for the taxi, maybe a bit more. The meter should be running - if it isn't, it will mean you are being ripped off. There is a bus connection, costs something like 2 euros, I think.

The bus may not be very convenient for you, though. It stops once in Avenida de América and ends the route in the Plaza Colón. There are other bus connections as well, and the Metro now reaches the airport.

Just thought I'd let you know that the bus to Colón doesn't run any more. The best airport bus connection is the number 200 which takes you to the Interchanger at Avenida de América.

Hi, I think bus may not be very convenient for you. Last year in April i was there and hired a minivan for same purpose. That car rental company had charged very reasonable price from us. Just a minute.. i am giving you the website name of that company, that will be very convenient and cheap for you. http://www.simpleautorentals.co.uk/car-rental-madrid-airport.asp Kim |
