I have a hen weekend coming up to Santa Ponça, Majorca. On the one hand, I am looking forward to spending time with my friends and letting my hair down, but on the other the idea of a whole weekend of lager and British tourists depresses me. Is there anywhere authentic nearby, by which I mean Spanish or better still Mallorcan? Somewhere I could slip away to for an hour or two for a bit of culture or other brain food? And might there be a real, non-British bar or restaurant in Santa Ponça where we can go when it's my turn to choose?

I don't know Santa Ponsa, sorry. But you'll only be a half-hour's bus-ride away from Palma, which has a fine historic centre with a fabulous cathedral, and even closer to Andratx, which I believe has some charm. There do seem to be rather too many British joints in Santa Ponsa, I'm afraid, though I'm sure you'll find somewhere to your liking - sorry I can't make recommendations.
