I've heard talk of a big drop in Spanish housing prices on the way, of the order of 20 or 30 per cent. Is that likely?

They've been saying the same about British house prices for years. If the prices in Britain were to fall, I suppose that might have a knock-on effect in Spain, I don't know.

I think English house prices are levelling out or dropping, depending on the area. I can't see that having an effect on the Spanish market, though, how could it?

Think of all those Brits who have taken a second mortgage to buy something in Spain.

Don't see much sign of a price drop from here in Madrid. The only change we have seen recently is a slowdown in price rises for new housing: second-hand property prices rose by something like 18% last year.
