Granada to Morocco

Anonymous Posted: 17.03.2005, 12:52
Unregistered User Hi there! Is it possible to catch a bus/coach from Granada to either Gibraltar or SOMEWHERE that I can catch the ferry to Marocco from?? How do I go about booking buses? (I.e. ahead of time, or do I just turn up...) Is train an option?

Thank you very kindly.
Carla :-)

Carla,
Algeciras is the best place to catch a ferry to Morocco from, and Tangiers is a better destination than Ceuta. There are two or three buses a day from Granada to Algeciras, operated by Alsina Graells (website http://www.alsinagraells.com). You will also find the link to their site on the Spain and Portugal for Visitors Moving Around page (as soon as I have fixed something else I have to take care of urgently). I think you can reserve a ticket on the website, or pay on the spot if you don't want to commit yourself to a particular date and time. For ferry timetables and prices, see the Trasmediterr?nea site (http://www.trasmediterranea.net, also linked from the Moving Around > Ferries page, or if you are hellbent on Gibraltar, Ferrys R?pidas del Sur gives details of its very fast but very sporadic services at http://www.frs.es.
