Education and training of tourist guides in Portugal

Anonymous Posted: 16.04.2005, 04:59
Unregistered User Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a student of Tourism from Slovakia, writing a project about education and training of tourist guides in Portugal.

I would be grateful if you could provide me any information concerning this
topic as it would be really useful for me.

As the topic "Education and training of tourist guides in Portugal" is relatively extensive, I have chosen few main points:
At first, I would be interested to know some facts about
- the preparation of potential tourist guides for their job - who organizes it and what are his competences,
- what is the content of preparatory courses, technique and the form of training,
- how is the preparation completed - final exams and their form
- requirements for potential guides - education, physical condition etc.
Finally, I would like to know about
- possibilities of application of acquired qualification in practise - what are the chances and opportunities for a new tourist guide to apply his qualification in the practical life.

Thank you very much for your time. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Miriam Buryova
