This interesting idea consists of holding concerts at various
historical places along the Way of Saint James in Aragon.
Unfortunately, the web page has not been updated since last
year.
Barcelona
- GREC Festival d'Estiu
June 25th - August 2nd, 2001.
Grec is the symbolic name popularly given to this summer
festival, for the "Greek" theatre of that name where it began,
twenty-five years ago.
Granada
- 50 Festival Internacional de Música y Danza
June 22nd - July 8th, 2001.
The most venerable of Spain's festivals is celebrating its
50th anniversary with, e.g., scores by Albéniz, Falla, Debussy,
Rodrigo, Barrios or Tomás Marco.
Santander
International Festival
August 1st-August 31st, 2001.
Second only to Granada in venerablity, the Santander International
Festival is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Segovia
- Verano Musical
June 27th-August 15th, 2001.
Although the veteran of Spanish festivals, the first edition
being held in 1938, this year it is only celebrating twenty-five
years of uninterrupted programming.
