Job Maze Best of the Net
An excellent new site for job-searching teflers. It seems
to carry more vacancies in Asia than Europe, and the country
information links sometimes misdirect you (to Australia, perhaps
they are trying to tell you something) but the country information,
at least for Spain and Portugal, is really first class and
the "Qualifications @ a glance" section is lucid
and helpful. I especially liked the Top 10 lists, which are
both accurate and illuminating. For example, if you have ever
been TEFL-interviewed, you will recognise how spot-on the
Top-10 Interview Grammar Questions are, and if you haven't
yet but are going to be, you should learn the answers by heart
or have them tattooed on the inside of your eyelids. And the
Top 10 Ways to Supplement Your Teaching Income could, in fact,
omit the word "Teaching." Definitely deserves to
succeed.
Expatriatecafe.com
Tracy Shields' Expatriate Café is an indispensable
site for teflers, aspiring teflers and, indeed, anyone with
an interest in working in Spain for a year or two (or more).
It has truckloads of information and articles, a message board,
great links, a sumptous colour scheme and a thoroughly breezy,
cheerful feel to it (and if you identify with that approach
to life, you will find TEFL a lot easier).
Graeme
Porte's English Lessons
Do your smile muscles a favour and click this link. Dr. Porte
is a lecturer at Granada University who, not content with
teaching English for much of his working day, imparts it on
the side as well. And anyone who has ever tefled will recognise
the unwavering, hilarious veracity of his character portraits,
from aspiring diplomat Manolo and his potato clock to the
inexplicably sexy singing policepeople Susan and Cecilia.
I nearly wet myself laughing.
International
House - Portugal
International House is one of the more important chains of
language academies, and if you are thinking of taking TEFL
seriously, take a good look at their training programmes.
They are expensive, but mark the standards for the industry.
International
House - Spain Directory
Another of the advantages of working with a chain like International
House is flexibility of location, i.e., you can work for a
year in one place and transfer more or less effortlessly to
another the following, sometimes (not usually) during the
same academic year. Many of the language schools listed here
have their own websites, for example...
International
House - Eastern Spain
...here is the site for Eastern Spain, including Barcelona
and Majorca (with jobs listing).

TEFL.com's
Job Search
An excellent resource for job seekers, though users must hope
it does not become too popular - twelve vacancies in Spain
and one in Portugal at the time of searching is not a great
number.
TEFL.NET
Probably the most important site on the Internet related with
TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Resources,
job listings, forums...

The Times Higher Education Supplement's job page sometimes,
only sometimes, has TEFL jobs.
