Adeje
You are quite likely to visit the oasis town of Adeje in
the south-west of the island as the Playa de las Americas
and other beaches fall within its muncipality, at least partially.
Adeje
The Spanish-only municipal site has little for visitors.
Costa
Adeje
The series of beaches from Ajabo in the north of Adeje down
to the Playas de Troya. Just why the Playa de las Americas
(coves 1 and 2) which falls within this coastline should be
claimed by the adjacent municipality of Arona is a mystery
to me. This is a nice site, with less than perfect English
which is more amusing than irritating and a lovely design.

Arona
The municipality containing both the Playa
de los Cristianos and the adjacent Playa
de las Americas, even more important touristically.
Arona
The Spanish-only municipal site does not have a great deal
to offer visitors. The information given under "Turismo"
seems OK, but is not available in English, despite the Union
Jack.

Puerto
de la Cruz
One of the oldest and most important resorts on the island.
Puerto
de la Cruz, puerto acogedor
Which means "Puerto de la Cruz, a cosy little port."
This is the municipal site, though you wouldn't know it, and
is hi-tech and incomplete but seemingly growing. It'll be
great when it's finished.

San
Cristóbal de la Laguna
A little inland from Santa Cruz, this lovely world-heritage
city is also worth visiting for the countryside around.
San
Cristóbal de la Laguna
This municipal site is great, but Spanish-only. To get to
the most relevant stuff, click "El Municipio" on
the left, then "Patrimonio Mundial" and finally
"Monumentos."
Santa
Cruz de Tenerife
The capital of the island is a city of about 200,000 inhabitants,
not a great place for sights, but enjoyable enough.
InfoSantaCruz
The site of Santa Cruz City Council is a bit odd. If you click
"tourist information", you will see a numbers of
large buttons with legends in poor English with that awkward
municipal feel to them: "Projects of Future," "Data
of Interest," etc. There is some interesting stuff in
here, but divided up with extremely strange page breaks. Weird.

Santiago
del Teide
A small, historically isolated municipality containing the
cliff-side resort of Los Gigantes.
Los
Gigantes
From Islas.co.uk, a page describing this resort which it describes
as "having an air of exclusivity," while warning
about its steep slopes.
